3WA acted as masterplanners and architects to develop and prepare a planning application for this 25 acre ex-pharmaceutical plant in Basingstoke city centre. The proposals developed were for a new mixed use community which included new iconic campus for Basingstoke College of Technology, a learning campus and commercial offices. The retention of a locally listed landmark building created a 150 bed hotel, a restaurant, conference & leisure facility and an art gallery.
The design focuses on creating a new 'quarter' for this part of Basingstoke. The site is a short walk from the train station and town centre. The quarter is designed around large gardens, plazas and tree-lined avenues seeking to create a thriving new community which is an exciting place to live, work, learn and relax. 3WA obtained full planning permission and the site has subsequently been built out.
