3WA designed this modern language facility for Rugby School, Warwickshire. The building responded to the duality of the existing street by alluding to the stone bay windows and brick facades opposite. The stone fins were positioned to prevent solar gain while still allowing good views from the windows. To the rear of the building there is a more open approach to the façade which allows views onto a landscaped courtyard.
The building achieved an 'excellent' green rating from world environmental assessors BREEAM.
