Winner of International Competition

This original competition winner, out of 600 entries, seeks to optimise the site and its location whilst being an iconic building appropriately anchored in its site.

The location of elements within its plan enable an expression of structure and function whilst providing opportunities for energy production such as wind power, water power and heat recovery. The material choices for the building have roots in industrial buildings but have been refined giving a sophistication associated with a world-class landmark structure. The economics of construction have been carefully considered and have resulted in a highly resolved structure that does not compromise the architectural intent of the vision.
